9/17/08 Update: It's official - we have found a wonderful family to rent our condo...they're christians and we know them through our church congregation - praise God for finding a family we know will be dependable and take care of our home!
We're moving!
Not far...because let's face it...once you've lived in a place like Fleming Island where EVERYTHING you could possibly want or need (minus Bonefish Grill) is within a 3 mile radius, you'd be insane to move away! Chad and I have been looking for homes in this area for about 6 months now and have been patiently waiting a great deal. We finally found a home on 1/2 acre in a well established neighborhood...it's an older part of Fleming Island, but is about .25 miles from the river (our street name is River Reach Rd) and the house has loads of potential. It will definitely require updating...floors replaced, every wall painted, appliances and fixtures updated, the yard needs work...but every home Chad and I have ever purchased has been somewhat of a fixer-upper, so we're fine with this.
We've been packing, painting, vacuuming, dusting,...you name it! Our goal all along has been to live in our condo for 2 years minimum, and then begin renting it out...we're about 2 months ahead of schedule, but are still pretty pleased with the fact that we're staying on track. Anyways, all the cleaning was worth it because the first family we showed our condo to decided they wanted it! At this point we've only received a verbal commitment, but are praying that if this is the renter for us, that they'll sign the contract this week. What a relief it would be for us to be able to know it's rented out before we've even moved!
So...details about the house...It's nearly 2000 sq feet and has enough bedrooms for our kids to each have their own room...although they've made it quite clear that they do NOT want to be seperated!...we'll see. It has a massive living room with vaulted ceilings which will be perfect for entertaining. A nice front porch, a HUGE backyard with a tire swing (which pretty much sold the kids on the house!), a dining room which will be used for Chad's office until he can build a business garage in our back yard...etc. There's a huge room that was designed to be a "wet bar"...yeah...that'll be torn down immediately.
I'll post pics later...we won't be moving in till mid October,...the home owners were nice enough to prolong our closing in order to ensure that we'd have a contract on our condo! Everything's moving right along though...the inspection was today and it went great!

Congratulations!!! That sounds exciting.
Congratulations! Hope that everything works out to your advantage, but it sounds like it is...don't worry the kids will be wanting those seperate rooms before to long!
Yea! Congratulations!! I'm excited for y'all and glad that it's right on your schedule (or close)! I look forward to seeing pictures!
And NO MORE rude neighbors banging on the walls!! Your kids can be kids! I'm so excited for y'all! Oh, and we have a Bonefish Grill less than 2 miles from our house, but we don't have a rock'n YMCA!
Hope the move goes well and things keep falling right into place. We're excited for you guys and can't wait to see some pictures!

Love you guys!
Congrats on the house! You never know - Melissa wanted me to sleep in her bed till she was like 18 years old. You could always have a "sleep/study" room and a playroom!
How wonderful!! It's great that you'll have more land for the kids to play on. And what a blessing for everything to be going so smoothly so far! I hope it all stays that way! You are so organized that I know it will! Have fun.
Congratulations! A new house is always so exciting. We are hoping to do the same in the next year or so...if we can ever agree! The plan right now is to go to homecoming...hope to see you there!
