Yeah....I KNOW - two posts in one week - impressive, eh?!?! ;)

Before I head out the door for work, I want to leave you all with a lil' advice.....never, ever, EVER buy for your child one of these devilish instruments!!!! TRUST ME - they may look inviting all wrapped up in the store and your child may beg and plead for you to purchase it for them....but when that time comes, think back to your dear friend's Lindsey's blog and say to yourself "Nope, uh-uh....not gonna' buy it!". Then very sweetly distract your child to the next item in the toystore....a nice quiet book or playdough would be MUCH more enjoyable for all!!!

I can say from experience that this post deserves a huge AMEN! All 3 of children received one of these for Christmas and after about an hour, I wanted to take them and pop each of my kids on the head with them!!! Needless to say, they got "lost" and we can't find them. I'm all for teaching kids music, but I'll stick with a piano or guitar!

Also, I'm so proud of you for working so hard to serve your family through your new job. I wish I could move there and send my kids to your school!! You are probably awesome at directing it! Have a great week!

Someone should start a website where parents can list toys like this. That way, at least you're forewarned about them. You could list things that are extremely annoying, things that don't work like they should, things that are way too messy, etc. I would definitely look at it before going birthday and Christmas shopping! One thing that I don't like is floam. It didn't work how is said it would and it stuck to everything it touched like the kitchen table, the kitchen floor, and the kids' clothes. Thanks for warning us! I'm glad your job is going good!

Ha! Here's a thought to go along with that. How about having a classroom FULL of those and no one knowing really how to use it!! That's why I'm not a music teacher! When it's time for my students to have music every week, I head to the teacher's lounge because there is NO way I'm gonna sit in there and listen to 20 recorders!!! Ha!

Haha!!! I'm still traumatized by the mere sight of a recorder... I flunked out of recorder class in the 4th grade and was not allowed to proceed on to band. For some reason I just cannot read music. I started trying to learn at the same time as everyone else and I was sitting there doing my "Every Good Boy Does Fine" thing and just finding the right note when all the other kids were like two pages ahead of me in the music! We had a recital for parents, and the teacher told us if we couldn't keep up, to fake play so we wouldn't ruin the music. I faked half the presentation, and afterward my parents took me out for ice-cream as they always did after any sort of school performance. I broke down crying that I didn't deserve the ice-cream! Dad said I did my best. I have considered myself completely non-musical ever since! It's a sad, SAD story. Thanks for bringing it up, Linds. J/K!

You mean you're NOT going to supply these for all the 3&4 year olds at preschool this year?

Can you even imagine? (LOL!)

When we went to the beach, we didn't get out of the driveway and John flagged us down to make sure to send her flute or whistle as she calls it, with us! You can imagine the look I gave him!
