This is Shep's outlook this summer. We've been determined to help Shepherd maintain a sense of normalcy this summer. So, when our Swim Team coach told us that Shepherd could participate in swim team as long as he wore a waterproof cast cover, we decided to go for it! After one week of doing surprisingly well in practice, the coach suggested we let him compete. SO, here's some pics from his first event in Fernadina Beach.

Competing in the 50 Freestyle...that means he had to swim free style up and down the pool...yes...TWO LAPS...WITH A CAST! He did awesome!

Did I mention there was a lot of time between races?!...Sammi Jo was beginning to get slap-happy!
Receiving assistance at the end of his back stroke race...can you imagine swimming backwards, unable to see where you're going, with a cast that goes all the way to your under-arm?! I'm amazed he made it as far as he did!!
