Happy 6th Birthday to THE most joy-filled and irresistible little boy in the whole-wide-world! We love you Shepherd Lee!

Isn't it true that the wrapping of a gift is often-times just as fun as the actual gift itself?! This is what Shep walked in to this morning...presents galore...

....and CAKE galore! :) A new Eason Family tradition...(thx Jamie!!!!). It's a Breakfast Birthday Cake - and we're going to start eating this when anyone in our family is celebrating a b-day! It is YUMMY and super easy (the brown clumps are brown sugar....ooey-gooey-goodnes!). Dunk it in some milk and you're good to go....

SO....this has been "birthday WEEK!". Chad took Shep to Ollie Koala's for some "guy time" on Saturday. Chad knew he wouldn't be able to celebrate with Shepherd on his actual birthday, so he planned a special day for him...even went to the store and bought him a present and card....I was seriously impressed! :) Then, Monday (despite the typhoon that came through) we had a play-date with the Graston's - these boys are top on Shep's list! We didn't even talk about his b-day, but it made his week (and mine!!!) more special, so it was totally apart of his birthday week! ;) And yesterday (Tuesday) we were invited to join the Ward Family at the beach. And although the idea of going to the beach with three children (without Chad) was HIGHLY unappealing, I took one look at Shep's sweet hopeful face and said "sure!"! Here's a pic from my IPhone of Tommy and Grace with Shep and Rauly...getting buried in the sand. :)

First thing this morning, Rauly and I lit a #6 candle and sang Happy Birthday to Shepherd....he thought it was super cool to be eating "birthday cake" at 7am! :) We all sat around the table and I shared some of his labor and delivery story. Then we prayed and thanked God for the plans He has in store for Shepherd. It was a really sweet time of bonding!

But what is even cooler than eating birthday cake at 7 o'clock in the morning?? Opening birthday presents!....yep, Transformer toys and Star Wars lego's beat out the cake!

And to end this special day, we spent the evening with Meemaw and Aunt Jenny at the Club House Pool....complete with a Spider Man Cake and PB&J (per Shep's request)....I mean really, can you think of a better dinner?! ;)

And now, the b-day boy sleeps....sweet dreams my precious boy - I love you!!!!!!!

I don't know what I'd do if you didn't have such a great blog. Even though I'm really missing out on so much with ya'll being so far away, you make me feel almost like I've been there. To some degree I'm experiencing his day and the pics and comments help soooo much. It's wonderful that you take the time to photograph so much with your hands always being full with Lillie Anna and Chad being gone so much. I know it takes a lot of effort and I want you to know how much I appreciate it. I love and miss you all and can't wait to see you again this summer. You're the best daughter a Mom could ever ask for and you're doing a great job with the kids (and Chad too of course). Shep has had a memorable week and like another Mom said - (she scrapbooks) if there's not a photo of it then it didn't happen - she's talking about when kids get much older and tend to forget all the good times and just remember when they got grounded or their parents said no all the time. :) You've got the happy and funny memories covered!
