Just lovin' me some Eason kiddo's...

In true sisterly fashion, Rauly is sharing everything...including sickness. Poor Lillie Anna! With two older siblings, it's nearly impossible for her to avoid the common cold. She's had two bouts of sickness and one bout of Pink Eye in four short months. You'd never know she were sick if you were to see her...she's smiling away and laughing...but if you HEARD her, she sounds like a garbled engine each time she takes a breath. :( As you can see in the picture, she's still lovin' the Maya Wrap (as am I!)...truth be told, she's content wherever she is...whether she's being held or all by her lonesome on the floor, but I like to imagine that she feels much more content nestled up close to momma'. :)

When I think of Rauly these days, I think of the song by Acapella titled Piper...there's a verse that says: "she's puttin' on her momma's shoes, cause' she wants to be a lady...and that's just what we want for her to be...". That pretty much sums up our little one. She's slowly growing out of her rough-n-tumble ways and developing in to the daintiest little thing. As you can see in the pic below, she still plays rough (as you can see from the two cuts on her face - haha!), but she's carrying around purses, wearin' her barbie shoes and wanting her nails painted with polish each day. Truth be told, I am in LOVE with how different she is from ME...I almost feel as if our differences have endeared me even more to her. She fascinates me! Her inner strength and confidence (both of which I lacked at a young age) and her calm, laid back attitude towards life are traits I admire in her. Most little girls are bashful and shy at this age,...but Rauly faces each new day and challenge with a boldness that even I don't have. But I think what I love most about her is her tenderness...she's gentle. You don't typically here the words bold and gentle in the same description, and I think that makes her even more unique.

And my first born...Shepherd Lee. My big bundle of energy who's always rearin' to go! Let me tell ya'...homeschooling a child who never sits still has been quite a roller coaster ride! Thank goodness God geared him up to have a desire to do his best in all he does, otherwise I'd be in trouble! I praise God for having put the desire to homeschool on mine and Chad's heart b/c it is a decision that has blessed our family in more ways then one. We've had the tremendous gift of being able to "teach" him all. day. long. With a child who rushes through life at the speed of light - it's been a great gift to be able to teach him to slooooow down. He's learning how to speak respectfully to God during a prayer, and how to not complain when I cook food that he doesn't necessarily like. He's learning to wait patiently to ask a question if I'm in the middle of something, and how to entertain himself rather than being entertained by ME or a friend 24/7. Yes, he's also learning how to read, and write...he's learning how to add, subtract...even multiply and divide! Truth be told...he's a sharp little cookie and has blown me away by how quickly he picks up on academic concepts. BUT...our decision to homeschool wasn't based on academics...for us, it was a decision based on molding his little character. And after such a successful year - we've made the decision to homeschool next year.
(BTW: I realize that nearly every pic I post of him he has the exact same expression on his face...but, if I try to get an "unposed" pic of him, they turn out BLURRY! Why?!?! B/c he's ALWAAAAYS moving! lol! So, I have to say "Shep - sit still and smile!"...thus, the exact same picture eeeevery time.)

How wonderfully unique each one is and how fortunate to have a mother so in tune to each child's uniqueness! I am so blessed to be their grandmother and to have you as their mother....
