Prayer Request

Hey everyone,
First of all, thank you all so much for your sweet words of congratulations regarding our newest addition - Lillie Anna. We're completely taken with her...she's been such a good baby, only crying when she's hungry or wet - she's very content otherwise to just sit and stare (or sleep the day away).

Some of you already know that when she was born, the nurses noticed she had a dimple on her bottom (at the base of her spine). As soon as the nurse asked our family non-chalontely "who in your family has a dimple on your behind?!",...I instantly had a feeling that something was wrong. Sure enough, the pediatrician paid us a visit the next morning and explained that her dimple could be a sign of spine ibifida or a tethered spine. All of the nurses and pediatricians assured us that they did not think anything was wrong...but they scheduled an ultrasound at Wolfson's Children's Hospital just to "play-it-safe".

Our doctor just called and said that although her spine is perfect (praise God!), her dimple is deep b/c it is attached to her tail bone. Also, at the base of the dimple, there is a dark spot...the radiologist seems to think it may be a fatty tumor, but without an MRI, he can't know for sure. SO, he has scheduled an MRI and has told our doctor to prepare for surgery to detach the skin from her tail bone. The MRI is scheduled for around Dec. 1st...the radiologist felt it would be safe to wait until she is 3 months old.

Please say a prayer when you think of her...obviousely we're concerned, but we're thankful overall that it isn't worse. Thanks in advance!
- Lindsey

Praise God that the ultrasound showed that her spine is perfect. We will be praying for her upcoming MRI and that you will feel God's peace during this time. Thank you for taking the time to post, I know that having three kids doesn't leave a lot of free time.

You handle everything with such grace... I'm glad that your trust is in the Lord and that you are not allowing Satan to cause panic in your heart. I know God has made Lillie Anna perfect, and He will take care of her!

I am so relieved for your guys that the dimple didn't indicate anything more serious. I know as parents it's hard to not be worried about anything that might involve surgery on our sweet babies, so I will be praying for your sweet girl and for peace for a Mama's heart!!

Congrats on your new baby girl. She is beautiful. We will continue to keep her in our prayers. I know that has been such a scary time. Continue to let God giver you and Chad the peace that you need during this time and enjoy your new beautiful little girl.

Let me tell you that the MRI won't be as bad as you think. They give them an oral anesthesia and the babies are out for the count. Paxton did so well that Greg and I went out to eat on the way home from the MRI! Way better experience than I had anticipated. The people at Wolfson are great. Let me know if you need help with the kiddos or if you have any other questions. I am so glad that you had the dimple checked out. Are they checking to see if the dark spot is a lipoma? Let us know what you find out. We had Dr. Phillipp Aldana as our surgeon and he was SUPER. I'll be checking in on you!!!Love, Shannon
