We're back!

Out of town guests, Swim Team meets and practices, Doctor's visits, our family business and birthday parties have been running us all over this town! Needless to say, this is not a good time for gas prices to start soaring again! In an effort to catch everyone up, I've created a LONG post...I apologize if it's too much info but it was easier to clump it all together rather than making lots of mini posts.

We had an ultra sound this past Tuesday and my mom (Gigi) and the kiddo's got to see Lillie Anna up close! It was THE most incredible 2D ultrasound I've ever seen...it was as if we were looking at her out of the womb (except it was in black-n-white). She was blinking, yawning, moving her head slowly from side to side....I think the blinking was what impressed me the most - I just couldn't get over how adorable it was to watch her open and close those big beautiful eyes! She's 50th% for weight (they couldn't tell on the height) and has long fingers and feet...go figure! lol! I'm 28 weeks now and am feeling quite big...we're pretty much living in the pool to combat the heat and achy joints that the extra weight has brought on...my hips and knees feel old. Well...I don't want to start complaining, so, without further ado, here are her pics...we had to scan them and they didn't turn out as clear.

Her face...can you see it? If you lean your head to the right, it may help. :)

Beginning to yawn...

Below is a video of Shep during his very first Swim Meet! He qualified in 1st place for both events (Back stroke and Free Style)...he was SOOOOOOOO adorable! When we told him he'd been practicing on the team for only 2 weeks and that it would be ok if he didn't win the events, he quickly clarified that he had been practicing for closer to 60 years! lol! I'd highly recommend the swim team for any child!...it's such great WHOLE body exercise and instills great team spirit...plus it just makes them that much more confident in the water - which is a blessing for the parents!

Shepherd and Ethan playing "Go Fish!" while they wait for their events...

Gearin' up for his meet...

"hmmm...do I really want to do this?!"

"You mean I have to swim THAT far?!?!"

...and away he goes!...

There were only two children competing in this event...one of which got intimidated and required the assistance of the coach to complete it.

You'll hear us hollering Shepherd's name after this event...that's b/c he thought he was suppossed to swim back to the starting line swimming the back stroke - we were laughing so hard when the coach had to jump in to stop him! There were 7 children in this event and Shep won! :)

My mom and Mike have been here all week visiting. We went to the World Golf Village with them Monday-Thursday and had a really nice stay. Our condo was 1400 square feet so it was the size of a house - which was really nice for everyone to be able to spread out and have our own space. I've included some pics of the kids with their grandparents....

Riding a horse at Chucky-Cheese!

Also, Rauly started swimming this week - yay!!! It finally "clicked" and she's swimming like a pro now! The video we took of her was a few days before she got really confident...now she's swimming under the water with a breast stroke and isn't timid at all.

I apologize in advance for the video footage...I obviously cannot record anything while I'm attempting to watch at the same time! lol!
And btw: Thank you to everyone for your prayers for Shep after his surgery two weeks ago! Since getting his adnoids and tonsils removed and having tubes put in, he's like a new boy...no runny nose, better sleep at night, improved hearing, etc. YAY!

Please be patient while our blog undergoes some "face" changes...things might be a little off for a few days. :)

Hey - good for you for sticking in there and having the patience to finish the blog despite internet problems and extremely slow downloading time! The pics are great - we had such a great time spending time with you, Chad, and the kids. We enjoyed our time at St. Augustine, going to the swim practice and meet and seeing the ultrasound of Lillie Anna. What a cutie she is already! We're so proud of Shep and Rauly - they're the sweetest kids. We loved meeting all of your friends - everyone is so friendly and real. It was nice having supper at Linda's and Dennis's and visiting with them and Jenny. She's a great cook as usual! You have a great church too. Your house looks great with all the updates - ya'll really done a good job even with paint colors. I know you'll be happy when you finish the back yard, but the front looks awesome! Great street appeal and how nice to have the green space beside and behind you! I will feel a lot better when you get that fence up though! We miss you already! Love, Mike and Mom

Hey Lindsey, I'm just catching up on your blog. Thanks so much for the video, it's fun watching the kids in action. Hope you are feeling well. I didn't know about Shep's operation, so I'm glad it all worked out. I remember when you had yours out. You used to snore like a freight train, but after you had them out, I spent the night with you and had to check to make sure you were still breathing. Now I'm the one that sounds like the train. Wish I could get mine out, but I hear it's a lot harder on us old folks.
Keep us posted. Can't wait to meet Lillie Anna when she gets here! Love Nanan

Hey Nanan, I didn't realize you were still keeping up with us on here! Thanks for leaving a comment - hope you all are doing good. And yes, I remember the snoring - thank goodness for tonsilectomies, eh?! :)
