***Update:***
Thank you Thank you Thank you for all your many prayers - seriousley, it gives me peace to know God is hearing so many requests on Shep's behalf! I spoke with Shep's Orthopedic doc in Savannah this morning and he said he would like to have x-rays done on Friday...so, after Shepherd gets out of school, me and the kiddo's will be going to Savannah. Shepherd is still pain-free so that's a HUGE blessing! Just say a prayer that the x-rays show that he is continuing to grow new bone inside the hole in his growthplate (specifically pray that the bone is growing evenly throughout the hole and not more on one side...this could cause his leg to grow to the right or the left) and that he can continue being a normal little boy!

***Update: Shep woke up pain-free but since his knee is still a little swollen, we are going to take him in to see a Pediatric Orthopeadic Doctor this week to have x-rays. It's a very good sign that there is no pain so hopefully it is just inflamed due to a change in weather or something along those lines. Thanks for your prayers and we'll let you know what his doctor says after his examination.***

Shepherd's Left Leg

I'd like to ask everyone to say a prayer for Shep please. As you all know, he developed Osteomyelitis in his left knee cap(specifically through the center of his growth plate) when he was 15 months. Well, to make a very long story short, he has been complaining about his left leg hurting this afternoon and on in to the evening - also, his left knee cap is swollen (sigh). SO, after speaking with several doctors...including his Orthopeadic Pediatric Surgeon in Savannah - we are waiting 24 hours before we decide for sure what to do. My prayer is that in the morning, the swelling will be gone as well as the pain and I ask that you all pray that as well. I just gave him some motrin because he was crying in bed and grabbing his leg saying that it hurt - you're all probably wondering why we haven't already taken him to the hospital but just a few hours ago he acted fine and as if nothing was wrong so I'm just a bit confused right now. Shep's never been one to lie about a pain or anything like that, and the doctor did say that with Osteomyeltis patients, sometimes the bone that was infected can simply become inflamed over time...so maybe that is what's going on? We NEVER draw attention to his leg so I know for a fact that he (up till now) never would have thought we'd be overly concerned about his leg and that he could get attention from saying it was hurting. I don't know... just pray that tomorrow he's back to his normal healthy self! Please also pray that if something is wrong - that the doctors will find it quickly and be able to treat it before it gets any worse. I'll let you all know what we decide to do over the next few days. Thanks for your prayers!

First off, I'm such a bad friend! I haven't seen your blog since you wrote about the chapel so I didn't see your prayer request...so sorry! I will be praying though this week when you guys find out what to do. I'm so sorry he has to go through that. It doesn't seem fair that a little boy should have to go through that. You all are in our prayers.
Ok, you are such a sweetheart Lindsey! Sterling is perfect the way he is, but I just feel bad that he's going to be on the short side. They tend to get made fun of easier, and that would just break my heart! That would be awesome for all of them to play HU football together...just to think of that brings a smile to my face. Such a neat thought! Thank you for all your kind words! Love ya girl!

Lindsey, I know how scary and worrisome it is, when we don't know why exactly our children are hurting in a painful way. I pray that Shep's leg will heal and that everything will be fine. I'll also say a prayer for mommy too! Hang in there girl.

Hey! I'll be praying for your trip and Shep's appointment. I'm glad things are looking better for him!

Thanks for your comment on my site. I have really slacked off updating lately! I got out of the habit when we went to TN for a week and never got back into it. Also, (long story), but we have my mom's computer now and I don't have everyone's blog addresses in my favorites anymore. I just need to sit down and get them off of our old computer. So I haven't been checking anyone's blogs. But I have also been more productive. :o) I am sure Reagan and I will come to a little bit of the HU game for homecoming. Surely we will see you there. If not at the game, then probably at church. My dad is supposed to be sending our pictures from our visit in TN so maybe I'll post a prego picture from those. Have a great day!
