Great-Granny, Rauly-Marie and Elizabeth-Anne

Great-Papa and Shep

Happy Grandparents Day!!!

Well, Shepherd was named after his great-great-grandfather and Rauly-Marie was named after her great-grandmothers, so...obviousely grandparents are very important to Chad and I!! I am so very proud of my own grandfather...my Papa. When my brother and I were little, he made us stilts, slides out of cardboard boxes and never ever seemed to run out time to play with us. We felt so special when we were with him...he made us believe we were truly worth all his time!! He was optimistic and encouraging, loving and caring - in turn, he raised two very devoted grandchildren who would do anything for him! I know Chad would say the same about his Granny. I have grown to love her as if she were my own granny. She's a true example of Christ...she puts others before herself, she's a gentle-woman, she loves and cares deeply and most importantly, she is a devoted follower of our Lord! I love her so much and am so thankful that my children are blessed with living close to her! Shepherd and Rauly are just as blessed as Chad and I are in the "grandparent department"!! Their grandparents show them the fruits of the spirit...love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. It's so fun to see my parents, and Chad's parents in this role...it makes me appreciate them all so much more! SO, here's to the grandparents in our lives and yours - thank you for being such tremendous examples of how to raise children and most importantly, thank you for your Godly examples - we treasure you all!!

Lindsey, thank you for the sweet comments about grandparents and I agree with you how important they are in the lives of children. I will certainly share with Granny your comments about her and I know that they will make her feel very special. It was good to be with you and the kids that Sunday even if for only a short time. Have a great week!

You're such a great granddaughter! I didn't even know it was grandparents day (but we do honor our grandparents on Mother's Day/Father's Day). I didn't know that your kids were named after loved ones... how special!

Hey Lindsey! Thank you for your helpful post on my blog =). Of course I remember you - you haven't changed a bit from when Kristy first introduced me to you! You have such a beautiful family & do such a great job of sharing what's going on with your crew via your blog! I second your thoughts on grandparents - I can't imagine growing up without them or (one day) raising children without their help!

I didn't know your kids were named after grandparents either... I love Shep's name. Even thought about it for my future child, but I'm not sure how "Shepherd Shirley" sounds. Could be a bad thing if he had a lisp. ;-) Love reading your blog. Hope all is well!

I know, wasn't that hilarious! He is so goofy! That's just one of the things I love about him! Thank you for your continued prayers. Heath said he talked to the boss today and he was more than willing to call the guy that we recommended who can find good insurance. He said the boss said it's very important to him also...so that makes us feel good. The boss is a Christian man and apparently treats his employees good. We'll see! Thanks again girl!

I enjoyed reading your sweet comments about your grandparents and looking at the pictures of special times that they've spent with your family. I know they are a blessing to you, Chad, Shepherd and Rauly, just like the 4 of you are to them!

Linds, What a sweet dedication to grandparents! Thank you! You are such a sweetheart and always so thoughtful and considerate and appreciative of those around you. I wish Papa had a computer and could participate in your blog or at least view it. I'll tell him about it! I'm sure it will make him feel very special! Thanks for always making us feel so special! Love you! Mom
