Rauly's 1 Year Check-Up and Shepherd's Upcoming X-Ray

Rauly had her check-up this afternoon and Dr. Stone said she was just perfect!! She was 22 lbs (50%) and 34 in. (90%)...unfortunately she required 4 shots today (3 immunizations and 1 flu vaccine)...ewww...she was NOT happy. She only cried briefly though and when they handed her a sticker she was fine and dandy!! I nearly cried when it came time to say good-bye to our doctor. Dr.Stone (Dudley) and his wife Malena have become some of our closest friends since we moved to Savannah. They have a baby boy named Davis who is a little younger than Rauly but they look like twins - it's amazing!! We have attended church and homegroup with them for the past year and they were both there right after Rauly was born. I know we'll remain friends despite the move but it is very sad that we'll need to find a new pediatrician...it's a shame we can't just bring him right along with us!!

As for Shep - he has an upcoming x-ray this Friday at 1:15 for his leg. Please be praying that the hole in his growth plate is filling in with new bone and that his left leg is growing straight and strong. Also pray that his fear of doctors will diminish.

We found out yesterday that Shepherd's Pediatric Orthopedic doctor is the only South-Eastern Orthopedic Pediatric Doctor. WOW!! Do you realize that Shep got sick just one week after we moved to Savannah and that the ONLY doctor that lived in this region thoroughly trained to treat both his age and infection lived in Savannah!! What a blessing God gave us! We will happily continue to make the drive to Savannah twice a year to see Dr.McCartney for Shepherd's annual x-rays...he has proven to be a very caring, perceptive, focused and sensitive doctor and his staff is amazing!

I'll update everyone on Friday with the results of the x-rays - thank you for your prayers!

Its so neat to see how God takes care of us! Could you argue that the pediatrician said that Rauly is perfect! I'd have to agree!

We will be praying for Shepherd this Friday. Thanks so much for the pictures in the Christmas card. They were adorable! So glad that Rauly had a good checkup. She is such a sweetheart. So looking forward to being able to be with ya'll more often. If I can do anything to help with the move (moving stuff, with the kids, whatever) just let me know. Have fun at Callaway Gardens. Love ya'll!

I just read your last post, and first of all, I'm AMAZED that you made a 12 hour drive by yourself with 2 kids! 2nd, that's so wonderful that your house sold! It's all coming together. I hope y'all have a very Merry Christmas!!
