Yesterday, Chad called me from work and said I needed to get to the Savannah National Guard park a.s.a.p. because they were doing car-seat checks and handing out free car-seats if you needed an upgrade. But, I found out the real reason he wanted me to get out there was not because he wanted to make sure his children were safely secured in our car, but to make sure I had the opportunity to meet Erik Estrada (sp?) from the show Chips! (Oh brother!!!) First of all, I've NEVER seen the show Chips, but I do love my husband more than anything - so I did this for him! Rauly and I had our picture made with him, and guess what?!...we ended up getting a new $200 car seat for Rauly for FREE!!! How exciting!!!

While we were at the park, they had fire trucks for the kids to walk through and firemen were walking around handing out hats to all the kids! Shepherd LOVED it! Anyways, 2 hours after we put him down for bed last night, we heard talking from his bedroom...we slowly opened the door and found him sitting up with his fire helmet on acting like a fire chief. It was SO cute that all we could do was encourage him to keep up the good work!

This morning we took pics of the classes Chad and I teach at church. Both sets of our parents have been curious what we do. I teach Club House which is 2nd-5th graders. During Club House I lead singing (yes,...head set microphone and dance moves are involved...over-kill I know!). I also lead communion, tithing and next is the bible class that takes several days to memorize! It's lots of fun - but requires serious prep time. Chad teaches the K/1 class and has the most adorable kids who truly adore him! I've been so proud of him - he's really stepped up to the plate and has done a great job teaching! The church pics look like we're in a class room setting because we are! My class is taught in the cafeteria and Chad's class is in the elementary building. 6 months ago our church started a new campus right down the road from where we live and Chad and I were blessed to see first hand what goes in to heading up a new congregation...lots and lots of volunteers!!!

Well, that sums up the past few days! Hope you're all well! - Linds

Cute pics as usual. Shepherd's pic with the firehat and your commentary were so cute! I feel like we're experiencing some of this stuff with you guys. Thanks for keeping us updated. Yes, we got to see Chips and knew exactly who Eric Estrada was! The pic looks like it is a sign! I would love to be a fly on the wall while you and Chad teach the kids. I'm sure you're doing a great job and the kids are blessed to have you two as teachers! Love you!

Mom- if you were a fly on the wall while we were teaching our classes, you'd be crackin' up the entire time - seriousely, we look like the biggest goof balls! But the kids love it, and the adults in the room get a huge kick out of it! 2 weeks ago I was doing the "running man" up on stage in front of 40 kids...yep - that's right, I can do the "running man"...with heels on too - very impressive, eh?! If someone had told me while I was at Harding that in 2 years I'd be up on stage doing what I do every Sunday, I would have laughed and said "keep dreamin' pal!".

These were great pictures (and great stories to go with them), Lindsey! I hope that 20 years from now, Rauly will remember the day she met Erik Estrada..... :-) Love you guys--can't wait to see you soon.
