Here are a few snap shots of our mornings...
Grammar work in the dining room.
Rainbow letters....finding fun ways to learn spelling words...
Dictionary work
Apologia Science - learning about our Solar System.
And this may be my favorite thing of the day...History (Story of the World) on c.d. My voice has been going hoarse the past month and after only a few days of reading history, science and bible aloud to them, I realized my voice would never survive the school year. SO, I found our history program on c.d. and the kids have LOVED it. They get comfy on the floor with their books and follow along...while I sip on coffee and listen.
Can you guess what the kids practice here? ;-p
And this is where I regain my sanity do my work. Notice the cup of coffee next to the computer?....I only take a few sips at a time, but that cup is getting refilled all. morning. long.
The kids enjoy a portion of their literature here as well...they're currently being read to by a program called Librivox (check it out - it's awesome!). Swiss Family Robinson fills up our home each morning as the computer reads the book aloud (again...saves my voice!). Oh, and the kids also use the computer to "veg out" for a while after school is done...Plants vs. Zombies - such a weird game....do any of your kids like it as much as mine?? I honestly don't understand the draw at all!
So that's our day in a nutshell!! So far so good...
