New Years Resolutions

It's that time of year again...time to start anew - time to press the restart button! I'm kind of addicted to throwing things out....purging is a wonderful thing, whether it's from a junk drawer, or a vehicle piled high with happy meal toys, or something more serious...like purging emotional/spiritual issues that are holding you back from being who God created you to be. I breathe a sigh of relief when I trash things and issues...there's a cleansing feeling that comes with letting go!

So, when the New Year rolls around, I get a bit giddy and Chad would say a bit psycho. ;-) Lists start covering the counters throughout our house as new goals are set and written down, so as to be remembered. I long to talk to Chad about what his goals are so we can be on the same page and support one another in whatever we're feeling led to tackle....bless his heart, he accommodates me even though I think he could care less!

I told Chad last night that my main goal for this year is to get healthy....mentally/spiritually/physically. No more living in survival mode (honestly, thats what it feels like chasing multiple children and living on 5 cups of coffee day!). Goals have been set to be easy on the body God gave me...no more pushing myself to the max in every area...I want to be kind to myself! That means slowing down, focusing more on total body health rather than being a a certain waist size. I want a strong back to play with my children, a strong mind to keep up with my friends and family, and a strong faith/heart to encourage those God puts in my path. To accomplish these goals would feel like a huge success.

I cut out coffee and soft drinks last week - scary stuff, I know! But, I figured God designed our bodies to thrive without those things...and I have to admit, I have felt SO calm since cutting those chemicals out.

I'm adding in vitamins, Pilates and am walking....kissed running goodbye as my back could no longer take the pounding.

I won't drone on and on...my list is expansive ;-). 2012 is going to be a good year - can feel the truth of that in my bones! So, consider the Eason restart button pushed!

What are your goals??

I am always so in awe of you this time of year (well, I'm always in awe of you, but especially when New Year's comes around and you are so eager to improve in areas you already excel!). You amaze me. Wish I had just an ounce of your drive and motivation! Glad you are taking it easier on yourself this year. You deserve it!

What a great blog! I too love the new year and the purging/goal setting time. Best of luck, especially with the no coffee thing.

Yeah. I didn't really hear anything else you said......

Um. Wow.

Definitely inspirational, as always! Are you really my child? What am I thinking? YOU are God's child!
