Thank you to those of you who are continuing to call, text and email to check up on Lillie. As you can see in the top picture, she's doing pretty well today. Her appetite returned as the day went on, and this evening she's eaten more then she ate in several days combined! Her belly is permanently distended...it just doesn't go down (although her belly is MUCH MUCH smaller then it was at the early part of last week!). Her lips have also begun turning pale - something we were told by the doctor is a sign of a stomach disorder. Despite being poked and prodded all week, she maintained her tender, sweet and gentle demeanor...today, some of her mischeiviousness has begun to return...a sign she's feeling a little better. ;-)

Several of you have also asked what you can specifically pray for. Please pray that we can keep her "well" until February 7th (that is the day of her procedures). She needs to NOT get any cold or upper respiratory infection in order to have the anesthesia. If you can believe it, Rauly seems to have come down with the Flu...she's coughing, achy throat and has a fever of 105.1! So, as you can imagine, our job of keeping Lillie "well" until February 7th is going to be a tough one.

I have been brought to tears several times by the kindness of the Fleming Island community. A friend from church brought us a meal last week and our preschool delivered a "get well basket" filled with immune boosting items for our entire family. A mother from Sharing Tree (whose daughter has been in Rauly's class since the age of 2) dropped by this morning to deliver a meal for our family. Shortly after, I received a phone call from a YMCA Women's Bible study (that I don't even participate in!) to say that they wanted to provide meals for our family until her surgery so that I could avoid having to get out to the grocery store. It has NOT been easy being on the receiving end of all this kindness - I would much prefer to be that person who is delivering the meals to someone in need. However, I have been so incredibly touched by all the love and support we've received and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

Hey, Lindsey. I've been trying to keep up with sweet Lillie Anna through FB, which led me to your blog. I just finished reading, and I am so sorry that you have to wait to find out how to help your precious baby girl. I will be praying for you, your entire family, and the medical staff. If you don't mind (and I know you don't), I will add you to the prayer list at my bible study tomorrow morning.

I love you and your sweet family, Lindsey. I miss you terribly, and I would love to be closer to offer you more support.

In Him,

Julie Davis

Praying praying PRAYING that Lillie Anna stays well!!!! It makes me so sad to see that little tummy. LA is so blessed to have such a wonderful Mommy and Daddy that are passionate about her health and spirit, and that will exhaust every physical, emotional, and spiritual resource they have to make her well again.
