Yesterday afternoon, I went to Crescent Beach with the Women's Ministry Team as well as our Minister's wife to stay at one of the team leaders beach homes. The house was the oldest home in Crescent beach - meaning it was well over 100 years old! The family who bought it own a large development/construction business and managed to tear down the existing structure and save most of it - they rebuilt it and it was breathtaking! Unfortunately, the pics I took were horrible - blurry - it wasn't until after I got home that I realized my camera had been on the wrong setting. Ugh!

St. Augustine had their "Art Walk" last night, so we admired all the beautiful galleries for a few hours before eating at the Columbia. The food and fellowship were wonderful! We headed back to Suzie's beach house for coffee, cake and lots of laughter - we couldn't believe it when we realized it was 2am! I've known most of these ladies for a year now, but most of our time spent together has been spent serving and not having quality conversations! I was amazed this morning over breakfast as many of them began sharing their testimonies and just couldn't believe some of the hurdles and obstacles....truly painful experiences many of these ladies have managed to overcome with the help of God. I thought of this song by Nicole Nordeman as I was listening to them share this morning and thought I'd share it with the slideshow. :) Neways, breakfast was wonderful - not only did we visit for hours out on the veranda in our p.j.'s over a DELICIOUS buffet breakfast - but we also had the most spectacular backdrop of dolphins swimming in the intercoastal waterway....there were pelicans and kayakers too.....sooooo nice!!!

I left before everyone else did - I'm happy to say that I couldn't wait to get back to my babies and was really missing them! Chad is working about 80 hours a week right now so I'm with them alone a LOT and can tend to get very exhausted and depleted...God has been good to give me occasional pick-ups like this weekend so that I can feel refreshed and ready to start a new day with my beautiful children!!

WOWZA! Now that's what I call a girl's trip! Must be nice to have friends with beach houses - ha! So glad that God has blessed you with meaningful relationships with your sisters in Christ.

Sounds like you had such a nice weekend. It's nice to get away like that. You need it! What a beautiful place!!! WOW! Glad everything is going well. Sorry that Chad has to work so much right now. That stinks. He's such a hard worker!

What a wonderful weekend! I'm so glad you were able to enjoy some time with such wonderful women of God. It sounds like your time together was both relaxing and encouraging--the best of both worlds. And the scenery sounds great, too. I enjoyed looking at your pictures :)
