A good mother knows her children by name.
She leads them only to safe places.
She teaches them right from wrong and will risk her own life to save them.
She feeds them only good food that brings nourishment to the body, to help it grow strong.
She puts herself last when it comes to their needs.
She will feel the same way about any future children she might have.
She loves them equally.

A gal on the CBS Leadership committee wrote this a few weeks ago during the week we were focusing on the Lords Prayer. She wrote a rendition obviousely based on the similarities in the Father's love for his children and the Mother's love for her children. I thought it was beautiful and wanted to share it with you all!

Happy Birthday to Linda (Chad's mom)!...her birthday is tomorrow - thanks for being such a wonderful mother and grandmother to our family - we love you and look forward to celebrating tomorrow night!

And I'll leave you with this picture I took this evening. After I tucked the kids in their OWN beds....I heard them softly whispering to each other about 30 minutes later so I went in to check on them. This is what I found. Shepherd had his arm over Rauly and was assuring her that she was safe from the monsters. When I asked what was going on he told me that she had gotten scared and that he told her she could sleep with him tonight. If only they were always this sweet... ;)

I wish I had a brother that sweet! My brother would have been in my closet acting as the monster. Precious kids!

They are darlings....
Reminds me of how my own little brother (who was 19 months younger) would climb in my bed and we'd both feel "safe." For years and years we did that. Children are a gift from the Lord...esp. to EACH OTHER!

BTW...my boys love singing "sha-la-la-la..." from your blog playlist!! HA! I like your selections, esp. "Bubbly." Nice choices!

What a sweet story and picture. So glad you captured it on film and put it in writing for a future day when you look back and remember those special moments! Thanks for the birthday wishes and thoughts. I truly feel blessed beyond measure and thankful for all God has bestowed upon me through the years...not the least of which is my wonderful family!

I love your blog song, too... who's the artist? My mom's ring tone for me on her cell phone is Brown Eyed Girl, but your blog version is so much cooler!

You're such a great daughter-in-law! Sweet, SWEET kiddos!

That is the sweetest picture! They are both so sweet and adorable! That reminds me of growing up, because I always crawled in bed with my sister, and anytime we traveled, the three of us slept in bed together.

Hannah - it is Everclear who sings this version of Brown Eyed Girl. I'm glad you all like it!

Lauren - I think one of the sweet priveledges of being the "older sibling" is letting the younger sibling in bed with you...like you, I can remember letting my younger brother in bed with me too! Just think...one day James will be doing that with HIS little sibling! :)

So cute!! It's so good that you got a picture so that later on in life, you can pop it out and show it to them when they start fighting!
