I just got off the phone with Terri Lee (Melissa's sis in Searcy,AR) and was told that last night Melissa went to the hospital for contractions...they said she was dehydrated and she stayed throughout the night last night to give her fluids and watch her contractions. After laying on her side, the contractions stopped but this morning when she laid on her back, they started up again so the doctor decided to go ahead and do the c-section this morning. Melissa is being prepped for surgery at this moment and Janey should be here soon. Please be in prayer for the Hicks right now! I will keep everyone updated as I receive news. I'm in Arkansas (just got here last night!) but will be heading back to GA on Sunday....
8:40am Georgia time- Patience just called me to say that Melissa is out of surgery. That's all I have for now....I'll let you know once I hear how everyone is doing -including baby Janey.
UPDATE:At 9am GA time I got a call from Patience saying that Janey had gone to be with the Lord. Terri just called a few minutes ago and said that Melissa is doing ok after the surgery but other than that, I don't know anything else.
*For God to be with the Hicks Family...physical healing for Melissa and emotional healing for all who were impacted by Janey's precious life.
*Safe travels to GA for all of Melissa and John's immediate and extended relatives.
I just received a text message from Terri saying that Janey came in to this world weighing 2 lbs. 15 oz. Melissa and John were blessed with one hour with her before God decided to take her up to Heaven to live with Him. The last update I received was that Melissa is pretty groggy from the medicine involving the c-section, but otherwise doing ok. I've been told that everyone is holding up well.
