When Daddy is away, his children will.....
A.) Get sick.
At about 9pm last night, Shepherd ran in to the office hollering something about Rauly...he was saying it so quickly that I thought he was saying Rauly had fallen out of her crib. I immediately picked Shep up and ran in to their nursery and the first thing I heard and saw was Rauly throwing up all over herself and her bed. I had to sit Shep down to go and pick her up and as I'm carrying her to the bathroom (yes, she was still puking), I begin to hear Shep say..."mommy, I not throw up,...ooooh...mommy?...I not throw up!". Have you guessed what happened next? I learned that my son has a good gag reflex because just watching his baby sister throw up caused him to do the same. He threw up all over himself and all over the bathroom. SO, there I was holding Rauly over the toilet, with throw up all over both of us, as I helplessly watch my toddler throw up all over himself and the bathroom floor. Wow - needless to say, last night was a bit of a rought night! Rauly slept pretty good last night when she finally went to sleep around 11pm, however as soon as she woke up this morning she began to have bad diahrea and after she drank just a few swallows of water from her sippy cup, she threw up all over our living room and again in our kitchen. It's a really good thing I have a tough gag reflex or we'd all be puking!!! She's currently laying in my lap, sucking her thumb. Poor baby - I think she's had 5 baths since 9pm last night and I've given up on dressing her as I've already had to do 2 loads of laundry from all the items that have been thrown up on!! I guess if this continues much longer I'll have to take her to the doctor. (Finger's crossed she improves soon!!!) She is such a little trooper and she's tough as nails. She doing her best to actually get sick in the toilet and the only crying she's done is when she got scared from dry heaving because she couldn't catch her breath - seeing her eyes get big from fear just broke my heart and caused me to shed a few tears for her as well. This is the first time she has EVER gotten sick like this...her daddy hates being away knowing that his baby girl is hurting. I've been praying for energy and strength and God has been faithful and is giving me plenty of both - I felt perky when I woke up (something I haven't felt in a long time!) and have had unending amounts of patience with the kiddo's...thank you God!

B) Get Potty trained through the night!!!! :)
Shep turns 3 on Saturday and I have always said that I wanted Shep to be sleeping through the night without a pull-up by the time he has his 3 year old b-day. Well...I have less than a week to accomplish that goal! :) We ran out of pull-ups Sunday night so I decided I was not going to buy anymore. (Keep in mind, Shep is potty trained during the day and sleeps without a pull-up during his afternoon nap.) Last night, I was very clear with him on the fact that "big boys" do not pee-pee in their beds..."big boys" do not pee-pee in their pull-ups..."big boys" get up in the middle of the night if they need to go pee-pee and they use the potty. I tucked him in bed last night, went in to the bathroom and turned the light on just in case it actually worked and he did get up to use the potty, and went to bed thinking to myself that I was going to have to wash yet another load of laundry the next day becasue surely he wouldn't get it right on the 1st night. BUT - I underestimated my lil' man!!! At 3am, Shep came in to my room and told me he needed to go potty, so I went with him to the bathroom, and walked him back to bed when he was done. He was literally beaming from pride of acting like a "big boy"! It was the CUTEST thing!!! Now, I'm not by any means expecting tonight to go as well...it could've been a total fluke, but I'm crossin' my fingers!! :)

So sorry, I wish I could help you. I can jump in the car and be there in a few hours if you need me. Let me know if you take little girl to the doctor.
Yeah for Shep going to the potty.

Thx for the advice Melis - I called and made an appt. for Rauly this afternoon...I'm hopin' Chad's mom will be able to watch Shep for me. I hope it's not that virus that you were talking about - I really don't want Shep to catch this!

Hey Lindsey ... that sounds miserable ... I can feel Shep's pain, my eyes started watering just thinking about throwing up! Great job Shep being a big boy! Keep it up!

Shepherd has officially come down with whatever it is Rauly has...thankfully Rauly seems to be over the worst of it. She hasn't thrown up since early this afternoon. Shep on the other hand has thrown up 6 times since 4pm. Ugh! I have been cleaning up throw-up, giving and taking baths, washing clothes, mopping floors and wiping down walls all day long and am completely wiped out. Please pray that I do not get whatever it is they have!!
