On Wednesday, Chad and I left for Jacksonville,FL to spend Thanksgiving with the Eason/Siegel clan. Omiword...there was so many people and so much food - it was a really great time! We ended up celebrating Rauly's b-day although she isn't turning 1 until Nov. 30th. She got several adorable outfits, fun books, baby dolls, Leap Frog games, a whinnie the pooh walker, and even money to go in to her wallet...or at least mommy and daddy's wallet! :) We opened Rauly's presents first, and all of a sudden we heard someone say "Shepherd Lee - what are you doing?!!"...you guessed it!...he had found Rauly's b-day cake on the table and was diggin' in face first! SO - ofcourse everyone with a camera leaped out of their seats to try to capture the moment...I mean, how can you be mad when your two your old is doing something that hysterical?!! Thankfully I had already gotten a pic of her cake (before he took several bites out of it), and it was still pretty and tasty enough for Rauly to eat.
So, what am I thankful for? I'm so thankful for family and although I really wish I could have seen my own parents and brother, I'm thankful for cell phones and internet so that we can talk non-stop and feel as if we're together!! I'm thankful for loyal and devoted friends...the kind that stand by you despite your quirks and imperfections. And I'm thankful to our Father in Heaven for the daily blessings he gives us as well as the trials that come our way...for it's through those trials that we grow in our relationship with the Lord! I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving - now it's time to officially prepare for Christmas!!! :)
