Chad's sister Jenny came to stay with us in Savannah on Thursday night and Dennis and Linda (grandma and grandpa) came to visit us early this morning and stayed through the day- Jenny had conferences to attend during the day, but we loved getting to spend time with her in the mornings and the evenings! Friday night, she blessed Chad and I with a date night by keeping Shepherd and Rauly for us. THANK YOU JENNY!!! We have not been on a date in I don't know how long. We can't afford babysitters right now...average Savannah babysitters charge $10 or more per hour and if you include dinner and a movie - well, like I said...we can't afford it. Chad and I ended up going to The SaltWater Grill, a restaraunt on the marsh in Isle of Hope (one of the oldest occupied islands in GA), and enjoyed excellent seafood while we watched the sunset over the ocean. It was amazing! Normally when we eat out with the kids, we are in and out of the restaraunt in 45 minutes - but last night we stayed for 2 hours just holding hands and talking about our past, present and future. After dinner, we went to see The Guardian - what an awesome movie!! We ended up not getting home till 1am and after we got home, we stayed up talking for nearly an hour. We smiled and laughed more than we have in a really long time and I'd have to say it was by far one of the best nights we've had since we moved here! For those of you who have multiple children, you know how hard it can be to have time to hold eye contact with your spouse, finish a sentence without being interrupted, speak without feeling like your shouting over the children, ect. (I'm not complaining about these things cause' I know it's just a phase in our life and far too soon it will be over and I'll miss the craziness!) But I will say it was so nice to hold hands, speak uninterrupted, eat slowly, hold eye contact - I'm beginning to think $10/per hour may be worth it once a month! :)
It was great getting to spend time with Dennis and Linda - Dennis helped Chad to fix up the play room today - they got to spend the afternoon doing their favorite things...going to Home Depot and playing with power tools! :) Linda and I stayed at the house and took care of Rauly - although she looks healthy in the pics she was running a fever all day...coughing and runny nose...poor thing! Hope everyone else had a great weekend and enjoyed the great cool (almost cold) weather we had!

It was great to hear about your date...It gives me hope that there are some good guys out there. I might need one sometime to protect me when I get scared in my house :) Hope you have a great day!

Terri - Do Chad and John need to come sit outside your door at night while you watch CSI?! It may be a long drive, but I know they'd both be ready to come and fight off the boogy men! :)

Linds, I am so glad you and Chad got a date night. What a difference it makes!!! Payton and I had our first date night (since Will was born) a few weeks ago and it was great to get to spend time without having any distractions! Your sister in law is sweet to let you and Chad have that night all to yourselves!
I hope everything is going good with you guys. Have a great week!

I'm glad Jenny was able to give you guys a break! That's so important for you and Chad. It's sounds like a wonderfully romantic evening and bonding. I'm sure the kids loved having their Aunt Jenny to play with and also time with Grandma and Grandpa. This grandma can hardly wait to get her hands on those adorable kids! Looking forward to your Arkansas visit! Love, Mom

Cold weather - Schmold weather. I'm wearing a sweater today... a little bit chilly! I can't wait for everyone to be here for homecoming! I'm hoping that I won't be too busy to visit a little :)
