I put an update under the pics...

Ok - my mom requested pics of her grandkids so pictures she gets! We went to the park today and it was SO cold! When we got back Shepherd thawed out in the bathtub and than it was lunch time. I thought this would be a good time to take some nice "still" shots. Both the kiddo's are sleeping right now which is a good thing because Shepherd has his first "Little Gym" class tonight! They offer a free trial class for both kids before you decide if you want to enroll them so tonights the night for Shep and on Saturday we will take Rauly in. I think they'll LOVE it...we just need to decide if the social interaction and the skills they'll learn in there is worth the money. Because of their age they will need parent participation so I will go in with them. I'll post pics later on! Oh - and mom - the last pic of Shepherd is him sitting on the potty. He had to go to the bathroom but was so excited to be taking pictures for you that while he was sitting there he kept saying "HEEEYYY GIGI"!!!!

UPDATE
Shepherd and gymnastics...

Shepherd had his first "Little Gym" class last night! It was the cutest most hilarious thing I think I have ever seen!! Shepherd was the newest member to join the class so all the other kids had been participating in the program for at least a few months now. But he made instant friends with all of the other little kids...he was outgoing, he was confident and above all, he was very very active!! I expected him to kind of sit back and watch the other kids do their thing while he learned...however, he wanted to participate in the fullest possible way! He was the first to volunteer to do a backward somersault as well as do a flip on the low bar with the instructor. He also LOVED the high beam and crawled up by himself - he balanced well but I had my hand on his arm just in case.

Before I go any farther, I will admit that I may be more proud than the average mom. I remember the day and the moment that Shepherd started jumping and running - it was months after his bone infection had eaten a hole through his left knee. We were taking a walk through our neighborhood in Savannah and I was having a silent conversation with God while I watched Shepherd walking with a limp. I had been praying for a long while that God would not only heal Shepherd's leg but that He would give Shepherd's leg strength to jump and run...it was heart breaking to watch him be weaker than the other children. And then all of a sudden, while I was praying, Shepherd saw a leaf on the road and he stopped in front of it. He concentrated very hard on that leaf and then jumped. Just like that - it was the most glorious moment for me!! I laughed and cried!! He jumped and attempted to run for the rest of our stroll. I think I knew at that moment that he would be ok.

My point?! Not really sure... I guess I say all that to say that despite the fact that Shepherd has stayed home with me and has not been enrolled in any kind of private school setting and despite the fact that he had several physical set-backs, - I was very excited to see that he's doing just fine and in fact, he excelled last night. Thank you God for your many blessings!! Now that we know he's on the same level both physically and socially, we've decided he doesn't need the class. If we had the money to do it just for the fun of it, we would - but we don't, so we'll just continue to take him to the park, have play-dates with friends and take him to Sunday school. It's obviousely enough for him for now!

Sweet babies! This is the first picture of Rauly that I've seen her resemble you! She looks so much like her daddy, but the expression on her face in that one picture reminds me of you. :)

Omiword Shauri - you are the VERY first person to ever say that Rauly might in some way resemble me...bless you for that sweet comment! :) I absolutely think she's gorgeous and I love that she looks like her daddy, but it is really nice to hear you say that the expression on her face in that brief moment might vaguely remind you of me. lol!

Melissa - way to be on top of things by being the first commenter! OH and my camera always has the wrong date!! :)

The kids are getting so big. They're both adorable and I can't wait to see them in person. Thanks for sending a few and just keep 'em coming! Hope you get to take pics of them at the gym too.
It cracked me up that you said Shep was talking to me when you took his pic! Cute! Love you!

That was so good to hear! I remember all those feelings you described and asking God for healing of that little leg....and I remember taking him for a walk in the wagon but he wanted to get out and walk....and he stopped and got this look on his face (concentration) and JUMPED over a pinecone. Tears of joy came to my eyes! Rest assured you are giving him all he needs....all those activities and school will come soon enough and these special years will be gone forever! Enjoy!

I say keep up the good work, because whatever you're doing is obviously working. You have beautiful, active and well adjusted kids. You and Chad have every right to be extremely proud :)

Lindsey, thanks for sharing the pictures of the kids and your new home. It looks like a wonderful place. Can't wait to see it in person. Looking forward to being with ya'll at Jenny's on Saturday. Madison can hardly wait! She is so glad that Rauly can be a part of the LLC. Shepherd has really blossomed out and I loved talking to him on the phone. See you Saturday!
